- To call “dibs” or “dibbs” is to claim first choice of pick of a chosen item. So think of calling “shotgun” for a car seat but less firearms-y and more British.
- A Yum Yum is a kind of fried pastry that is dipped in a thin icing. I’ve seen some which are like pastry fingers, some that are plaits, some with flavoured icing and sprinked with pecans – it pleases my sweet tooth to no end (which is why i have to avoid buying them lol)
Anywho, I think some people were waiting for Ash to reduce the pastries…

Cj reaches out in a lightning fast blur to grab the pastry before Ash can take the bag away. "Dibs on the Yum Yum!"
Ash retrieves the bagged pastry from Cj's hands, scowling. "HANDS OFF! Customers only!"
CJ feigns innocence. "I'll be a customer when i buy it!"
Ash pauuses, smiling sheepishly before he starts to march his try of bagged cakes to the other side of the section. "Ok, yeah, that was a good one... but you know what i mean! You know that I don't get dibs and never do you!"
As Ash turns away from the counter, CJ grabs the bagged pastry from the counter top, grinning evilly. "Come ooooon, it's been a slow week. Why not call dibs tonight?"
CJ places the bag into her apron pocket. "The Vultures always leave the nasty leftovers at the end. Don't you think we deserve some of the good pickings too?"
Ash marches to the self service stand in the centre of the section, away from the counter. "you really aren't getting a yum yum if you keep calling customers "vultures. No yum yums for rude people!"
There are a group of at least four people lurking in the background, watching Ash move the reduced price goods to the top level of the station.
