CJ begins to turn to leave. "Anyway, I'd better get back. Nearly time to goooo!"
Ash stands up straight to catch her attention. "Oh, wait, before you head back- I've decided. I won't go out tonight, but only because it was too short notice. Not because I am some boring old man! I'll ask them about another night, for sure!"
CJ looks pleased. "Nice one! A'ight, see ya later."
She removes her hands from her apron pocket, then does a peace sign with her hand that is holding a wrapped paper bag. “You know what, i don’t think you’re right. Sometimes it’s trying to put a positive spin on things. For some people, that is. As you said, nice things, but cheaper.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
“I think this… this is getting a bit too serious a topic!”
“Didn’t think we were that serious.”
“W-well to be honest it felt like it was? You did promise that you wouldn’t be a…” Ash shrugs as he cannot find a non curse word.
Cj pauses, shaken as she is filled with memories of previously annoying people. “Oh. Guess i was rather… yeah.” She looks much more reserved, rubbing her arm as she looks away. “Sorry, I don’t ‘ave a lot of people to talk to ‘bout this sorta stuff. Builds up sometimes.”
Ash looks awkward. “Just… warn me if you are gonna.. Vent? Please?”
He then nervously elaborates. “I-it’s fine too! Not saying to never get annoyed ever! But erm… just helps me know if it is a serious debate? Or just, erm, letting off steam?”
CJ stands back up straight again. “ yeah. I getcha. Fair ‘nuff. I was working to a point… at some point! I swear! Ash spots the bag.
"Wait- is that - did you hide that from the customers?!"
Cj lightly tosses the bag between her hands and grins. "I called dibs and I meant it!"
Ash looks like he is about to start an arguement about rules, but then backs down. "No, we still aren't supposed to... no... I give up on this."
Cj walks backwards from the counter and section Ash is in, smiling. "Good! 'Cause I wouldn't give this up without a fight!"
Ash snarks "Yeah, of course you wouldn't..."
CJ continues, "COME ON! Who gives up on a yum yum. It's called a Yum Yum, you don't refuse something called a YUM YUM! NOT ME!"
Unbeknownst to her, the grumpy eldery customer has approached the deli counter she is supposed to be working on.
