I can vaguely remember my group interview, I think there were a lot of adults twice my age trying to get part time work which intimidated my barely out of school nervous self.

In some ways it was nice that it wasn’t just youngsters (like myself at the time) getting retail jobs but other age groups got in too.

But yeah, this page is to shout out that I am not drawing all that stuff and that this new applicant had their hiring circumstances streamlined. It’ll come up again.

The red headed manager empties a sugar free sachet into his coffee as he talks. "As you are no doubt aware, Damnsons has a high bar of entry when it comes to our customer service standards."

He stirs his coffee.
"We all pride ourselves on our work attitude and dedication to quality. Therefore we as a company are very select in who we hire for our roles in store."

He looks at the unseen person he s talking to in you, the reader's direction. Images of daydreamed peope in a group interview play out as he talks.
"As such we are normally like to take a littler longer to get to know new applicants. We would meet you as part of a group interview process, get you to have a chat, take part in a few teamwork games and the like... that sort of thing."

The daydream ends with the manager doing a thumbs up.
