Looking at my old version i very much wanted to elaborate on CJ’s particular reasonings for her opinions. At which point i kindly remind you that these are fictional characters opinions and are specifically written in mind to portay their character personality. (social topics are EXTREMELY nuance after all so please don’t assume CJ or Ash is “me” speaking to you. I keep my opinions to myself <3 thank you for understanding)
Also the customer at the checkouts is a little character reference for something i drew this year (2025)

Ash frets to himself. "That feels... irresponsible, somehow."
Cj plainly states "yeah, if you speand ALL of your money, that is! Being hard up and miserable for sympathy is just stupid. Had a former best friend do that all the time and it was fuckin' annoying as shit."
The front of the store, at the checkouts, the younger woman scans a customer's goods which are all reduced. CJ narrates.
"I swear some of the vultures are here every day and buy all of this reduced stuff just because it is reduced."
Ash has his arms crossed, resting on the side. "And who cares if some people do? Just ignore 'em."
CJ continues, overlapping with daydreams of people buying products.
"What is left for those who do need it cheap 'cause thy're struggling or whatever?"
Ash says "CJ, we aren't gonna tell people what they can or can't buy."
CJ frowns. "Well then don't shop at the most expensive shop around if you're struggling..."
At that moment, Ash realises to himself that the conversation isn't about him going out anymore.
