I do remember these conversations on the shopfloor with a group of us, what feels like a lifetime ago…

Also I am a vulture these days so I have a LOT of thoughts on my old chapter 6 and what I “didn’t” say then. Food is so expensive, i live on my own and at the time I did not have much cash so I really was just oops all reduced labels. I’m doing better now. (I made so many fruit smoothes and veggie soups this year for so cheap)

Ash speaks to Cj as the section remains empty of any other people.
"CJ, do you really think the customers want to be here because of... pride?"
Cj casually looks at him. "the vultures? The ones here at Damnsons sure are."
Ash looks earnestly at her. "You say about people who "genuinely" need it, but who are we to know who looks like they deserve something or are sruggling? Or when someone should or shouldn't go out?"
Ash creates a daydream of various staff members refusing a wide range of customers.
"No, sorry, but it's store policy to only allow people who look poor to have half price ham for their lunch or whatever."
"That dented tin of tomato soup? You're too good for that. Pay full price."
"Come back when you have a few more holes in your sweater"
Ash continues. "I've had enough people resuming things about me from my appearance for you to-"
CJ interupts. "Alright alright, I get it."
