Ash points upwards and speaks confidently. "Oh no, I'm still a temp, so, yeah, that. I just do mostly the same shifts each week,"
Cj explains. "Yeah, I saw that, it's what I was curious about. I did think that he'd made you full time ahead of our temp contracts ending after Christmas. Like, if he singled you out? Bypassed the probation perid just for you or something."
Ash looks concerned. "That's gross? No, I'm just doing extra shifts."
CJ gets distracted and taps at the glass cover for the display of birthday cakes. "Alright. heh. Who'd by that shutty looking cake?"
"I don't know, someone? But CJ, Don't you feel if you turn down too much overtime, Kevin won't keep you on full time?"
CJ pauses to think.
"I like having the power to say no."
Ash scoffs. "I have no idea how you can be so relaxed about the future."
CJ looks on incredulously. "It's just a supermarket job, Ash! Lighten up, old man."
